The Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago and the Asian Bar Association of Washington will host an online discussion of birthright citizenship in light of President Trump's Executive Order, the legal challenges to the order, and the recent Supreme Court oral argument. The principle that virtually everyone who is born in the United States is a citizen of the United States was established in the 1898 case US v. Wong Kim Ark and has been widely accepted since then.
This discussion will be led by Kimberly Leung (AABA Chicago Board Member), Wendy M. Feng (ABAW Past President), and Stephen Chahn Lee (AABA First Vice President). The discussion will be informal and will be geared for the general public, and we invite your questions.
