The Asian American Bar Association of Chicago, in partnership with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, is proud to host a listening party and reception for the live-streamed oral argument in one of the most significant cases of the term, Trump v. Barbara, No. 25-365.

The question presented is whether “Executive Order [No. 14,160] complies on its face with the Citizenship Clause and with 8 U.S.C. 1401(a).” This Executive Order provides that “children of temporary visitors and illegal aliens are not U.S. citizens by birth” and “directs federal agencies not to issue or accept citizenship documents for such children born more than 30 days after the Order's effective date.”

This event will be held in the Ceremonial Courtroom of the Everett M. Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, 219 S. Dearborn, 25th floor. All are welcome to attend this event, listen to the arguments in the courtroom, and discuss them with each other over light refreshments provided by AABA Chicago.

Space is limited. Register for this complimentary event at https://aabaogc.wildapricot.org/event-6603476.

A handout previewing the argument is available online here
